Frequently Asked Questions

We know building a website can come with a lot of questions. This page covers the most common ones, but if you need anything else, just ask!

  • The subscription includes a 12-month minimum commitment, after which it continues on a month-to-month basis. You’re free to cancel anytime after the initial term. Please note: the website remains active as part of the subscription — if the subscription is canceled, the site is no longer hosted or maintained.

  • Early cancellations are subject to the remaining balance of your 12-month contract. If you're unsure about the full commitment, feel free to reach out and we can walk you through your options.

  • All invoices include a 7-day grace period for payment. If an invoice remains unpaid after that window, a $25 late fee will be applied. For subscription clients: if multiple monthly payments are significantly overdue without communication, we reserve the right to cancel the contract. In such cases, the client may be held responsible for the full value of the website. We’re always happy to work with clients who communicate openly — life happens, and we’re flexible when needed. However, to protect the time and effort invested in building each site, we do take action when there’s a lack of response or repeated non-payment.

  • We send all invoices via Square, which includes a secure link where you can enter your payment details. For subscription plans, payments are made by credit or debit card — we accept all major card providers. For one-time (lump sum) projects, we do ACH bank transfers to help reduce processing fees. Please note: We do not accept checks or money orders.

  • The $100 fee for additional pages is a one-time charge. It covers the design and development of that page, and it becomes part of your website — not a recurring cost.

  • Due to the time and custom work involved, we typically do not offer refunds once a project has started. However, if you’re unhappy with the direction early on (after we show you the initial design and before we start on the content of the main page), we’re always open to working with you to find a solution that meets your expectations.

  • Yes, subscription plans continue on a monthly basis after the 12-month minimum. Since we don’t collect the full cost of the website up front, it typically takes 2–3 years for us to earn what we would through a lump sum project. Our goal is to build long-term relationships with our clients, ideally lasting 5 years or more, which makes the model sustainable for us and valuable for you. By that point, your website will likely be generating far more than $150/month in value — meaning it’s not just paying for itself, but helping your business grow. We aim to consistently deliver enough value, performance, and support to make it an easy decision to continue month after month.

  • No, we don’t offer a buyout option for the monthly subscription plan. As mentioned earlier, it typically takes 2–3 years — including hosting and ongoing support — to match the income we would receive from a one-time lump sum project. The subscription model only becomes financially sustainable for us when clients remain with us for 5+ years. This approach allows us to focus more on delivering quality work, supporting our clients, and continuously improving their sites — instead of constantly chasing new sales to cover costs. It creates a win-win: you get long-term, dedicated service, and we maintain the stability needed to provide it. If clients frequently opted to buy out early, it would undermine the entire subscription model and reduce our ability to offer the high-touch service that sets us apart from traditional agencies.

  • Yes! We offer an optional $50/month add-on for unlimited edits and ongoing support. This add-on requires a 12-month commitment and is designed to provide consistent, reliable service — so it can’t be paused and resumed month to month. If you choose to cancel and later decide to reinstate it, a new 12-month term will apply.

  • The main difference comes down to short-term affordability vs. long-term cost. With the subscription plan, you’re spreading the cost over time through small, manageable monthly payments — making it ideal if you want to reduce upfront expenses while benefiting from ongoing support. The lump sum option, on the other hand, requires a larger upfront investment but saves you money in the long run since you’re paying for design and development all at once without ongoing service fees (unless you choose to add them). Ultimately, the right choice depends on your cash flow and priorities. If consistent support and lower upfront costs are important, the subscription is a great fit. If you're looking to pay once and move on without monthly commitments, the lump sum offers more long-term savings.

  • Yes and no. SEO involves two key components: on-page SEO and off-page SEO.

On-page SEO refers to everything on your website — from content and structure to load times, accessibility, and meta tags.

Off-page SEO focuses on factors outside your site, like link building, guest posts, and online citations.

With our website packages, we handle important on-page SEO aspects, including fast load times, accessibility, meta tags, Google Search Console setup, sitemap generation, and basic content optimization. However, SEO is an ongoing, dynamic process that goes beyond the initial setup. For ongoing SEO efforts, including off-page strategies, we would partner with an SEO specialist. An SEO specialist would handle the ongoing SEO work separately from our website packages. If you're interested in professional SEO services, we'd be happy to connect you with someone to discuss offerings, plans, and pricing.

  • No, we do not offer e-commerce websites under the $150/month plan. E-commerce sites require significantly more setup and customization compared to standard business websites, and due to the higher costs involved, it’s not feasible to offer them at the same price point. If you're interested in an e-commerce site, we can provide a custom quote based on the scope and requirements.

  • Yes, you retain full ownership of your domain. We believe in transparency and trust — your domain is always yours to keep.

  • Our typical website development timeline is 2-4 weeks, depending on the responsiveness of our clients in providing content and images, as well as the availability of our design and development team. In some cases, it may take as little as 2 weeks, while other projects may require up to 3 weeks.

  • No, we do not offer that option or everyone would do it and we would be out of business. However, you will always retain ownership of your domain and any assets associated with your site.

  • Yes, absolutely. We believe in full transparency and ownership. Even if we purchased the domain on your behalf, we will transfer it to you upon cancellation of your subscription.

  • Nope! Every website we create is built with custom, hand-written code — no page builders involved. This is what sets us apart from others; we invest the time and effort to deliver a truly unique, tailored experience, and it’s evident in the quality of our work and the lasting impact on our clients' online presence.

  • Our custom-coded websites offer a number of advantages over traditional platforms like WordPress:

Enhanced Security: With no databases or third-party plugins, there’s simply nothing for hackers to exploit. Unlike WordPress sites that require constant updates to avoid vulnerabilities, our custom sites are built to be secure from the start, providing peace of mind with fewer security risks.

Faster Load Times: We don’t rely on plugins, which can slow down your site. Our streamlined code ensures fast load times and better performance across all devices.

Easier Maintenance & Customization: Custom-built sites are easier to maintain and more adaptable to future changes, saving you time and costs in the long run. Plus, you’ll never face the frustration of constantly updating software or dealing with plugin conflicts.

No Bloat: We avoid the unnecessary bloat that often comes with page builders and plugins, ensuring your site is lean, efficient, and responsive.

In short, with our custom-coded websites, you’re getting a more secure, faster, and reliable site that doesn’t require constant upkeep — and there’s no risk of the dreaded security breaches or unwanted redirects that can happen on other platforms.
